To show you the way: Wylie Way
It’s been eight weeks since we put our names down for Lot 1317 and the initial civil works for Release 19a are coming together quickly - so quickly in fact that (finger’s crossed) the land titles earlier than expected. Weee!
But what exactly has changed? Well, 8 weeks ago, we had a dirt road, a gutter, and some land markers. But now, we have a bitumen road (with line markings and reflectors), flattened land, a smooth and complete footpath, a lamp post, the start of a fence along Sneydes Road and street sign posts. But, the requirements of OH&S and public liability insurance are making the experience less than fun that we would like. Still surrounding the entire release is a 6 foot fence - but the benefit of being 6′2″ is that it’s easier to stick a camera over the fence to get a less disruptive shot.

Looking down Wylie Way
So looking down Wylie Way, you can see our block just at the second light post - that’s our light post. I’m sure the team from Peet Innisfail probably don’t see it as our light post, but hey, it’s out the front of our block, it’s therefore our light post.

Building the fenceline
But anyway, continuing the new civil works is the currently-being-erected fence down the left of that photo. The posts down the far end of Wylie Way are still supported by beams as the concrete cements, but the remainder are set in stone. This fence, assuming it will be identical to that in the Innisfail Estate, will be a neat wire fence, with shrubs and small plants alongside. Will go quite nicely with our fresh farmland view across the road.
So given we have had so many changes, we thought it would be good to update the background - and just as a refresher, here’s a look at what has changed in the last eight weeks:
