Well, we now have grass. We did our routine drive-by at Point Cook (and yes, we just received our notification of settlement from Peet - woohoo!), and alas there is still a fence up around the land release. But… but… but… so exciting… we have grass. At first, it looks like just some fresh growth after a shower of rain, but when looking at it more and more, it actually looks like grass has been sown. And while the initial excitement of landscaping gets the eyes wide, the realisation that the grass won’t survive contractors, trucks, builders, palettes of bricks and a swarm of utes during construction puts a dampener back on the situation. But for now, we have grass. And by the time the land titles and we can wander on our block, we’ll have a nice paddock to wander over.
But the debate still stands… do we get real grass or fake grass? The jury is still out on that question, but Mikey’s been drawing up garden plans, so I should do the same and we can then start to picture what our superb outdoor area will look like.

Real grass!! Real grass!! It’s not a big block, so the watering required won’t kill you. Our neighbours got fake grass and it SUCKED. If you get a good variety of grass, it comes up really nice, weed free and low maint.
Aren’t you lucky ? All we have is a lot of dirt, no roads paved and a huge fence too….somebody finish our road NOW !
Does this mean you have to go & buy a lawn mower !
Hiya! I found your website when I was searching for ‘Porter Davis’ and ‘Carpet’. Congratulations on your new home. It just so happens me and my parter are also building a Regent 23! However we are building in south east melbourne, in the estate Cascades on Clyde. We have chosen the same facade, the Ormond and pretty similar colors too! Feel free to check out my blog, i really should upload some more pictures.. and i’m also part of a home building forum, which has a few more people building regents, if you’d like to know about it, send me an email! - Erin
P.S. I vote fake grass, much easier to maintain and it will never die!
